26 September 2016 - 12:00pm

The central feature of the conflict has always been the rampant inequality, so solving the social, environmental and political problems still present in Colombia rests on the participation of a majority of Colombians, without fear of reprisal. Yet it is worrying that in the wake of the announcement of the end of the conflict, there has been a spike in violence over the last month.

EU-Canada trade deal CETA ‘must be stopped’

23 September 2016 - 2:45pm

CETA is a recipe for economic doom in the EU. MEPs have highlighted that it is now clear that CETA is also a threat to workers’ rights and public services, and that the ISDS ‘corporate court’ mechanism is not fit for purpose. The time has come to stop this deal for good.
