United For Education: United to End Precarious Contracts

News

On Saturday 19 November, the National Union of Students and UCU - University and College Union will be marching in central London to demand free, quality further and higher education, accessible to all.

The ongoing marketisation of education has meant many FE colleges have closed, jobs have been lost and students are being forced into debt whilst companies profit from student and staff poverty.

Academia is a front line in the fight against precarious contracts: 53% of academics are on zero-hours contracts, agency or other form of precarious contract.

War on Want stands in solidarity with all those fighting against precarious contracts, and for free, quality further and higher education accessible to all.
