Trade justice
International trade rules have condemned millions of people to poverty, destroying jobs and pushing down prices so that local producers cannot survive. Yet not everyone is suffering. Giant multinational companies see their profits rise year after year by taking over new markets and forcing their competitors out of business.

Multinationals are allowed to do this because of the 'free trade' agreements that have shaped the global economy over the past 30 years. The UK and other members of the European Union have consistently led the push for free trade, and with their latest 'Global Europe' trade strategy they are trying to force dozens more countries into even more extreme free trade agreements for the benefit of big business.
War on Want plays a leading role in the global movement fighting these agreements. Millions of activists, trade unionists, small farmers and working people across the world have taken to the streets to protest against the devastating trade policies that destroy their hopes for the future and their chance to work their way out of poverty.
We want a trade system based on justice, equity and rights, not exploitation and profit. With the consensus on free trade crumbling, now is the time we can make it happen. Join our campaign and help change the rules of the global economy for good!
