24 Hour Album for War on Want

g2_studios_1

Sheffield based g2studios are raising funds for War on Want by rising to the challenge to record an entire album in 24 hours. The epic recording session begins at 10am on Saturday 8th October and finish at 10am on Sunday 9th. It will be mixed, mastered and available for download no later than 11.59 PM on Sunday 9th October 2011.

The lovely people at Origin Broadband are taking care of the hosting and downloading side of things. The full album can be purchased for a minimum price of £4.

The line up has now been decided and we are delighted to have the following acts signed up and taking part:

The Retrospectives - indie pop riffsters in the sun
Oxo Foxo
- like Bjork singing Belle and Sebastian
The Kate Jackson Group - Northern Cowgirl fronted Americana pop
Jonny Kearney and Lucy Farrell - breathtakingly beautiful folk duo
The Everly Pregnant Brothers - ukelele-based sextet comedy supergroup
Driftrun  - DnB guitar pop for a friday night
Wooderson - sonic-mess power indie trio
The Hope Explosion - 1 drum kit, 2 guitars, 3 amps, a lot of good noise
Neil McSweeney - acoustic-based singer songwriter with a distinctly dark melodic alt-country flavour
The Early Cartographers - acoustic Upbeat Folksy Alternative Nu-Rural
Stoney - pop perfection from Austin, Texas. Rick Rubin is now a big fan
the Monicans - Aussie grunge three piece with riffs as big as Uluru

Plus, exclusive new mixes of 3 of the above tracks by Toddla T, Adi Carter and Mental Health Problems

Ross Orton (Current Arctic Monkeys Producer, Add N to X, Tricky, The Fall, M.I.A, Jarvis Cocker) has kindly agreed to mix a couple of tracks too.
