Al Zaytouna awarded Fairtrade mark

War on Want partner likely to see boost in sales after earning important recognition

Al Zaytouna, a Palestinian association of olive oil farming cooperatives and War on Want partner organisation, was recently awarded Fairtrade certification. The certification recognises the association's commitment to ethical trading, and will help it make further inroads in the UK marketplace. High quality Zaytoun olive oil is now sold in over 300 stores across the UK, and has already been proven popular with both food critics and customers alike. War on Want has long supported Al Zaytouna's efforts to improve the quality of its product and has helped it increase sales in UK.

War on Want congratulates Al Zaytouna on this important recognition, and will continue to support the association in its broader efforts to challenge the Israeli Occupation by strengthening the economic independence of Palestinian farmers.
