War on Want celebrates its 60th Anniversary at the TUC

War on Want President, Rodney Bickerstaffe invited trade union leaders, MPs, activists as well as current and former members of staff to celebrate our 60th Anniversary on 13 September.

The event coincided with the TUC Congress which, this year took place in Congress House in London.

Brendan Barber spoke of the relationship that has existed between War on Want and the TUC - not one without its difficulties in the past – but one which acknowledges War on Want’s position as part of the labour movement.

Our partners from Cactus in Colombia and the Tanzanian Plantation and Agricultural Workers Union also spoke of their partnership with War on Want. Cactus has been supported by Prospect in the past.
