Kick out World Cup poverty call reaches High Commission
16 July 2010
As part of its drive to end evictions in poor South African settlements, today War on Want campaigners presented a letter signed by over a thousand supporters to the South African High Commission in London.

Many thousands of South Africans have been displaced to remote transit camps, including Blikkiesdorp, or 'Tin Can Town', a settlement notorious for its deplorable conditions.
Alongside our partners the Western Cape Anti-Eviction Campaign, Abahlali baseMjondolo and the Anti-Privatisation Forum, War on Want will continue to fight against evictions and lobby for the provision of public services and better living conditions.
