Free Mohammad Othman: War on Want demonstration
08 October 2009
War on Want had written a letter to hand in to the Israeli Ambassador, HE Ron Proser calling for Mohammad's immediate and unconditional release and seeking assurances from the Israeli authorities that his rights as a detainee will be fully respected for as long as he remains in custody. The Israeli embassy refused to accept this letter.
During the demonstration, we received sad news from Palestine that Mohammad has had his illegal detention extended by another 12 days. He still has been not been told of any charges against him.
Much of Mohammad's time in detention has been spent in solitary confinement in a cell measuring just two square metres. His conditions are having an impact on his wellbeing and his lawyers have reported that his health has suffered during this time.
Please join War on Want in keeping up the pressure to get Mohammad freed.
• Act now by contacting the Israeli embassy in London about Mohammad's case.
