Remember Gaza: End the siege now!
15 May 2009

Four months on from Israel's brutal assault, which left over 1,400 people dead and thousands more injured, the Israeli blockade of Gaza continues with devastating effect.
Surrounded by 40-foot high walls of iron and steel, the 1.5 million inhabitants of the Gaza Strip are being held as virtual prisoners. Israel controls Gaza's borders and movement in and out is practically impossible. Even basic supplies of food and water and medical equipment are not guaranteed entry. In clear violation of international humanitarian law the people of Gaza are being collectively punished and slowly starved to death.
Yet the British government continues to offer diplomatic and military support for Israel's aggressive and illegal actions. War on Want marched on 16 May to put pressure on the British government to play its part and end the injustice.
