Forget the G8, this is the D8

You won’t have heard about it in the media, but the D8 has just completed its seventh summit in the Nigerian capital of Abuja. The summit declaration committed the eight members of the group to a new trade agreement based on South-South cooperation – the latest in a series of agreements challenging the mercantilist model promoted by bankrupt institutions such as the WTO.
