Please help poor farmers in Brazil feed their families
Thousands of people in Brazil are going hungry, yet more than half of Brazil's farmland lies unused. This shocking statistic is the legacy of colonial times when large tracts of land were divided up amongst the rich, much of which now lies idle.
War on Want's grassroots partner organisation in Brazil, the Landless Workers' Movement (MST) are determined to claim back the land for poor farmers and their families to help secure their future. The MST has won land titles for more than 350,000 families, securing their livelihoods and ultimately their survival.
However, there are currently a further 90,000 families petitioning for land ownership. Please send a donation of £40 today to help us ensure these families have access to farming plots so that they can grow enough food to feed themselves.
In addition to reclaiming unused land for communities MST is also providing training in sustainable farming techniques. By teaching farmers to produce and use their own seeds we reduce their dependence on expensive chemical fertilizers and commercial seeds – helping protect entire communities from hunger and poverty.

Please donate now:
£40 could pay for a seminar to teach 20 farmers how to produce and use their own seeds
£75 could help MST train farmers in sustainable farming methods, reducing their reliance on expensive fertilizers, so that they can feed their families throughout the year in an affordable way
£140 could support MST's ongoing battle to secure unused land for communities to use as farming plots, helping thousands of families to feed themselves
