Antofagasta Minerals is a mining giant that runs the Pelambres open-cast copper mine in northern Chile.

For almost a decade, the community of Caimanes have argued that the company has deprived them of a vital resource and fundamental human right: water. The community resistance is recognised as one of the most significant stands against mining companies in Chile.

In May community leaders visted the UK for the 'Fighting the Mining Giant' speaker tour. They talked power, corruption and water in Chile. Patricio Bustamante Diaz also appeared on RT's Going Underground alongside War on Want ally London Mining Network.

Patricio Bustamante Diaz, Archeo-Astronomist and Community Advisor in the mining community of Caimanes, Chile, talks about the effects of copper mining on the environment and the community.

London Mining Network's Richard Solly talks mining and the close connection to the London Stock Exchange.
