Stop arming Israel
Israel has violated more United Nations resolutions than any other country and its increasingly bloody occupation of Palestine has deepened the crisis in the region.
Yet the British government continues to license the sales of arms to Israel, in violation of its own arms exports guidelines. By arming Israel the UK is both providing material support for its aggression and sending a message of approval for its actions.
Israel's attack on the Flotilla of ships delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza in May 2010 and its assault on Gaza during in late 2008/early 2009 demonstrated the brutality of Israel's army and how it wreaks havoc, death and destruction on the Palestinian people.
War on Want is calling for an immediate two-way arms embargo against Israel. By licensing military equipment that is used to maintain the illegal Occupation of Palestine, the British government is complicit in Israel's crimes against the Palestinian people.
