Send a message of support to school children in Silwan

In February 2012 the Israeli authorities demolished the only playground in Silwan, a Palestinian town in East Jerusalem. But the children of Silwan are determined to rebuild it.

The playground demolition is part of a wider plan to demolish the Al-Bustan neighbourhood of Silwan and to make way for a controversial tourist site.

Just a few hours after the bulldozers left, local children held a game of football on the rubble of their old sports field. The community in Silwan want to rebuild the playground in time to celebrate Mother’s Day, which in Palestine is celebrated on 21 March.
