Clare Short visits Palestine

Clare Short MP and War on Want President Rodney Bickerstaffe say Enough to Israeli Occupation

June 2008 was the 40th anniversary of the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza. Ruth Tanner took War on Want's President Rodney Bickerstaffe and Clare Short MP to the West Bank on the eve of the anniversary to witness life under occupation first hand. Photographer Jo Metson Scott travelled with the delegation to record the experience.

Palestine 2008 visit - Rodney Bickerstaffe and Clare Short in the Jordan Valley

Ruth Tanner: We travelled to Ramallah, Bethlehem, Hebron, Qallqulya, Jericho and the Jordan Valley. We met politicians, trade unionists, activists and ordinary people living their lives in increasingly difficult conditions. Throughout our time there we met many individuals whose dedication and commitment to justice was deeply inspiring. This is a record of just some of what we saw and the people we met.

Thanks
