Thousands demand a system that Puts People First
On Saturday 28 March, over 35,000 people marched in central London to demand an economic system that puts people first.
The G20 seems hellbent on preserving the system that has caused this economic meltdown. The people of the world demand and deserve better.
With banners, flags and placards War on Want supporters called time on global greed.
In spite of the rain people came from all across the UK (and around the world), waved flags and listened to samba bands playing through the streets of London to demand decent jobs and public services for all, an end to global poverty and inequality and a green economy.
Speakers at the rally included Susan George and comedian and activist Mark Thomas; they demanded a radical transformation of the economic system rather than more of the same.
