War on Want Comedy Gig
Thank-you to all those who came to our comedy gig on 21 February. It was a great success (with a "mouthwatering line-up" as described by Time Out), and we have some pictures of the night below.
Comperes Steve Oram and Tom Meeten began the night, and their anarchic humour ran throughout as they introduced each act.
First up were BBC1's comedy duo Alexander Armstrong and Ben Miller, who warmed up the crowd with a bit of song.
Lee Mack (left) tried out new material on the charity crowd. Josh Howie gained a truck load of new fans.
Wunderkind Jack Whitehall wowed the crowd with his quick-fire perfomance and tight trousers.
Shazia Mirza closed the night with her biting satire.
Surprise guest Bill Bailey got a huge cheer when he walked on the stage, and supported War on Want's supermarket campaign with his tune: "ASDA, I ain't gonna be your bitch".
All photos Patrick Cusse & Christie Goodwin at CCPHOTOART.biz. Our thanks to them and of course to the artists who gave up their time.
