Price: £60

In Mozambique, one of the poorest countries in the world, many people survive desperate poverty by selling on 'unofficial' street markets ignored by the government except when it comes to charging high taxes.

Workers on these markets have to work in terrible conditions, often with no running water or sanitation. As a result their health is often at risk.

Assotsi, War on Want's partner, works to improve these conditions by training the workers to give them the knowledge to help themselves and gain recognition from the government, in turn leading to the provision of basic services.

Due to mobility and their vulnerable economic position, market vendors are particularly prone to health risks. Therefore, Assotsi organises workshops on health issues such as tuberculosis, diarrhoea and HIV/AIDS.

But to continue providing workers with these vital workshops, they need your support.

Just £60 could fund a three-day workshop to create 30 health experts, who will then go on and spread the knowledge.
