It was Friday morning and the sky above Glastonbury looked worryingly grey. Was it going to be another Glasto washout with 130,000 music fans rushing to the nearest poncho stall? Mercifully, by 3pm that afternoon the sun was blazing and classic 1980s hip hop trio, De La Soul, lifted everyone’s spirits on the main stage.
This was also the cue for War on Want’s festival team to click into gear. With a major presence at Glastonbury’s Leftfield and access to the backstage area, the WoW team launched its Screw Poverty campaign much to the delight of thousands of festival-goers.
Pop stars, celebrities and the general public alike jumped at the opportunity to model our Screw Poverty condoms all over the festival.

In fact, the politically charged Asian Dub Foundation (below) were so taken with the campaign that the group's MC Spex swiped a War on War T-Shirt and two boxes of condoms for their gig at the
Royal Festival Hall the day after Glastonbury ended.

Over at the main stage, Saturday's headliners Radiohead also leant War on Want a helping hand. Lead singer Thom Yorke signed a War on Want T-shirt but managed to leave the festival with it after the show! So Thom, on the off chance that you're reading this, can we have the T-shirt back?
