Disaster in South East Asia - urgent appeal

It is with deep sorrow that we enter 2005 in the wake of such a terrible disaster in Asia. Along with all the other victims, War on Want’s project partners in the region are struggling to come to terms with the enormity of the catastrophe. Our thoughts are with all of those who have lost loved ones and those who are now engaged in a daily struggle to survive.

War on Want is launching a special appeal targeted at meeting the immediate and long-term needs of our partners in the region. All the money we raise will be sent direct to our partners, to ensure that it goes straight to those working to rebuild lives shattered by the disaster. Please make a donation now, via the secure link below.

2005 is going to be a crucial year for our work to combat the root causes of poverty across the world. War on Want is calling on the UK government to use its leadership of the G8 and the European Union during 2005 to make the key policy changes which will make a real difference to those living in abject poverty worldwide.

A New Year brings new hopes for all of us. Let us hope it brings lasting change for those suffering inequality and injustice throughout the world.

Chief Executive
